It’s Saturday and my second week back home in Sweden.
The fact that I spent a month in beautiful South Africa and Mauritius prior to those last two weeks doesn’t count anymore. I’m a travel addict and always looking for existing places to explore. Since I’ve spent a few weeks surrounded by beautiful nature, landscape and beaches, this weekend I focus on bustling cities.
There’s so many fantastic cities around the world.
Here I choose two of my favorite cities where I would love to spend this weekend in. Each of these cities has sooooo many things to offer, but the following is some things I would choose right now.
Sydney
A perfect start of the day is to have breakfast in beautiful and charming The Rocks near Circular Quay. Here are so many cozy cafes serving delicious breakfasts.
After breakfast it’s a short walk to Circular Quay where you take the ferry to Manly. The ferry ride gives you a beautiful view of Sydney, and in Manly you can enjoy a day at the beach. Or why not just walk around in the area. It’s a nice place with lots of surf influences.
Sydney has lots to offer as evening activities, but to enjoy drinks and dinner in the quay with beautiful views of the harbour, the opera house and the bridge is hard to beat.
New York
Not a surprise. And a favorite city in the world for lots of people.
A perfect Saturday could start with a morning walk in Central Park. It gives you stunning views and a good exercise. I’m always amazed by this huge and beautiful park in the middle of this bustling city.
Breakfast in Greenwich village before doing some serious shopping in SoHo. SoHo and NoHo have great shops and it’s a nice area to walk in. After a stop by the hotel to leave the shopping bags and to freshen up it would be time to have a drink at The Jimmys. This is a great place for tasty drinks and stunning views of southern Manhattan while the sun sets.
I don’t mind walking in heals, but you could also take a taxi. SoHo has of course many restaurants but this night I would like to go to Meatpacking district for dinner.
