The somewhat unclear origin of the Margarita drink
There are several versions of the origin of the Margarita drink, most of them takes place in Mexico and somewhere in time between 1937 and in 1948. The most widely accepted story is that of Margaret Sames, a lady of the Dallas society visiting Acapulco in Mexico 1948 when she is said to have created the Margarita. She wanted to find another option for those cocktails they drank by the pool on holiday. Previously, she had tried to mix a new drink based on Rum but was not satisfied and went instead for a drink based on her new favorite liqueur Cointreau and the local Mexican spirit Tequila. After lots of variants, she came up with a drink when she mixted the Cointreau and Tequila with the juice of Lime.
Besides of all the stories of the Margarita drink origin, there is also another drink with identical ingredients, published in 1937; the Picador.
Recipe frozen margarita ( 2 glasses )
Through the years, we have encountered several variations on the recipe for Margarita, but this is the recipe we favor ourselves and prefer:
3 parts Tequila (2 oz)
2 parts Lime juice (1 oz)
1 part Cointreau (0.5 oz)
Tons of crushed ice

There are lots of variations of the recipe , but all of them use the three main ingredients in different varieties of mixing. Sometimes, the Cointreau is switched with the Triple Sec liqueur, but we recommend Cointreau which we feel gives a tastier Margarita. Moreover, the Margarita becomes tastier with fine Tequila than cheaper varieties. Some recipes also mentions syrup, but we do not think it’s needed for a tasty Margarita.
If you want to serve Margarita Frozen ie with crushed ice, or just chilled with ice is a matter of personal taste, the same is true if one wants salt on the rim of the glass or not.
