A visit to the Cook Islands is not complete without visiting the gorgeous Aitutaki. With a coral reefs around almost the entire island and islets, or motus which they named here. Aitutaki is sometimes called the “almost atoll”. This is what people dream about when thinking about the South Pacific.
Getting around Aitutaki
Best and easiest way is to rent a moped or bicycle. It is the most common mode of transport on Aitutaki. Remember to drive on the left applies. Bring a flashlight if you’re driving at night when the street lights are non-existent.
