Sunset Strip, West Hollywood, California
Sunset Strip is a stretch of Sunset Boulevard that is lined with clubs and restaurants. A important part of rock history was set here on Whisky a Go Go and Roxy, where bands like Doors, Van Halen and Motley Crue started out their careers. The Hyatt on Sunset hotel (Today renamed Andaz West Hollywood since January 2009) became known as The Riot House when Led Zeppelin rented a complete floor in the 70’s and amongst a lot of rock star antics drove a motorcycle in the hallway. It was here that the famous incident with the TV that was thrown from the hotel room occurred. Across the street you’ll find the House of Blues, and only a few meters away was once the famous Sunset Strip Tattoo, where Cher, Bon Jovi, Mötley Crue and pretty much any other celebrities got their tattoo in the late 80’s and early 90’s.
