Boston Common

In central Boston you will find the grand and beautiful park, Boston Common, a nice area both in spring, summer, fall and when it’s clad in snow wintertime.

Beacon Hill

The Beacon Hill area is full of old brick buildings, primarily residential but along the Charles street you’ll find cozy little shops and restaurants. This is where you’ll find the pub that was the inspiration for the TV series Cheers, and the very one filmed as the exterior featured in every episode intro.

Back Bay

In this part of town you’ll find lots of hotels and also a lot of shopping, such as Copley Place and Newsbury Street.

North End

Bostons own Little Italy offers fine restaurants and cozy environments in old brick buildings.

Faneuil Hall och Quincy Market

A real tourist mecca in Boston, but with nice environments, restaurants and shops it makes for an well worth a visit. Here you can find a Cheers bar that copied the interior from the Cheers TV series.

South End

A nice neighborhood with nice restaurants, even if the area is primarily residential.

Harvard Square

Contained among the university buildings there’s a small town with a few shops and restaurants. Not the place to go for shopping, but nice place to visit.

The Freedom Trail

Boston has a lot of history and many places and buildings connected with the country’s history. American freedom movement is said to have originated here when the people rebelled against the British tax on tea which was considered way too high. Which led to the well known Boston Tea Party. It is easy to follow lots of historical sites in Bostn by following a path which is marked with a red line in the pavement within central parts of town, the Freedom Trail.

Boston harbour

A short walk from Quincy Market you’ll arrive at the Boston Harbour. There are a few nice restaurants in this area, a few set in old buildings close to a Pier. You could actually walk out on the pier and get a great view of harbour area.

Outside of Boston

There is lots of nice excursions that could be made from Boston such as Cape Cod, Salem, Mystic, Martha’s vineyard, Nantucket and for those who might want to go further; Vermont and Maine are also popular destinations.
