LimeWave.com was founded in December 2001 and is run by Lars and Anki. The purpose from the start was to have a website where one could follow us on a trip around the world, that we set of on in December of that year. LimeWave.com has since evolved along with our travels. Today it is a popular travel website with an extensive travel Blog, with continuously rising number of visitors. We have over the years had the pleasure to advise, assist and inspire lots of travelers.
Anki has spent most of her childhood summers in the small village of Manilva in Andalusia, southern Spain and love both the Spanish culture and the language. Traveling to countries with Spanish as native language is always something special for her. The interest in travel has always existed but took off during the trip around the world from 2001 to 2002. Her everyday profession is as a project manager at LBi.
Lars has lived and studied in Los Angeles and been back often after. The interest in travel has always been present since childhood, but the trip around the world put it on a new level. Lars is a partner in the company Skapa, where his profession is digital strategist.
The name LimeWave
The idea for the name LimeWave comes from our travels. Our favorite drinks contains lime, such as frozen margarita we’ve had in Mexico and Caipirinha in Brazil. We prefer trips to warm destinations and then stays close to the waters edge where the waves rolling onto the white sands.
