With the green rice paddies, volcanic landscapes, beautiful cliffs along the coast, white sandy beaches and its friendly people perhaps it is not surprising that people call Bali the Island of the Gods. Everywhere you turn there are beautiful ancient temples, often adorned with beautiful flowers of the Hindus, who is the dominant religion on the island. There are plenty of cultural and spiritual experiences to share as well as to just enjoy lazy days at some beautiful beach.
Best time to visit Bali
When you think the weather is the cooler dry season from April to October and is generally considered the best time to visit Bali. The rest of the year, it is more humid, cloudy and more rain. July, August and September is the high season for tourists. During this time it is much tourists in Bali and it can be difficult to book a room.
For cold northerner Europeans Bali wonderful during our winter semester, if you do not have a problem with a lot of heat and it can be a fantastic option for those who often go to Thailand.
Getting around Bali
The most common way to get around Bali by bus but taxis are relatively cheap. If one is to carry a little bit longer distances can sometimes combine it with a walk through a couple of stops on the way. Obviously, you should arrange this before leaving.
You can also rent a car, motorcycle or bicycle. Note that Bali driving on the left side of the road.
Most nationalities need a visa.
Offices are open between 8AM-4PM. On Fridays they close at 11.30AM and on Saturdays at 2 or 3 PM.
All other business is generally open from 8 or 9AM until 4 or 5 PM.
Some work only half day on Saturdays.
Banks are open between 8 AM-3PM on weekdays.
